Jerry
Bloom - Editor
Jerry
not only edits, typesets and designs each issue of the magazine but also handles
all the subscriptions, distribution and mail-order sales.
In February 2004 he took over the
publishing, production and distribution of Autumn
Leaves, the official Mostly
Autumn magazine. His other activities include freelance writing,
typesetting, design and concert promotion / production work and merchandise
sales.
He has written sleeve notes for labels such as Polydor, Sony BMG, Angel Air & Classic
Rock, articles for magazines such as Record Buyer, designed the Blackmore's Night Ghost Of A Rose tour
programme and was production manager for the 2004 two-day Uriah Heep convention
featuring Ken Hensley.
In 2005, he wrote the first, full biography on Ritchie Blackmore called Black
Knight. In January 2008 he re-branded the business as Wymer UK to
reflect the diversification of the work that has included touring as the merchandiser with
Mostly Autumn, Barbara
Dickson and John Martyn.
The business continues to diversify with the publications now coming under the Wymer
Publishing banner, that also has numerous music related books planned over
the coming years.
Although not exactly a session musician, over the years Jerry has provided
backing vocals and hand claps on numerous albums and DVD releases by the likes
of Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Rush, Yes, Genesis, Gillan and Mostly
Autumn. (Okay, he was in essence just an audience member on various live
recordings but what the heck! He's still waiting for the royalty cheques
though!)

As well as being a
life-long fan of Ritchie Blackmore, since he first heard Deep Purple's Fireball back in 1971, Jerry has a wide-ranging taste in music appreciation.
Though raised on the seventies music (his other all-time favourite artists being
Bob Dylan & Frank Zappa) and a lover of many of the classic acts of that
time; Free, Genesis, Floyd, Rush etc, he also enjoys diverse acts such as The
Stranglers, JS Bach, Abba, Enya, and more recent acts The Cardigans and a very
personal favourite in Mostly Autumn.
What little spare time he gets is spent
indulging in his other passions, which include Chelsea Football Club, Jaguar
cars, cricket, travelling (sitting in Bavarian and Czech taverns drinking dark
beer!) and watching classic cult sixties & seventies TV shows!
