256 pages with a small selection of photos (mainly colour) the
book is described as the "essential guide to one of the world's
best-loved rock groups" and is basically divided into two parts.
Part one is the story, part two analyses all the studio albums. As the
title would suggest it covers the bands entire career.

The first of EMI's archive Deep Purple DVD releases includes the full concert from Denmark, 1st March
1972, first released on video in 1990 as Scandinavian Nights. Both the picture and sound quality
are superior to the VHS release from the nineties. The DVD
also includes the only surviving footage from ABC TV's New York 73 gig,
brief extracts of which were used on the Machine Head DVD.
Also features on screen histories, optional commentary (spoken by Jon Kirkman), audio options and comes complete with a detailed booklet.
