Blackmore's Night UK Tour Reports

(Email your reports here)

I am currently extremely annoyed whilst posting this review about the Reading Blackmore's Night show - but I'll get to that in a minute. First, let me point out that I've been a dedicated Blackmore fan since I first saw Rainbow at the tender age of 11 years in 1977. I have followed his career at every turn, bought every LP, video, CD, DVD, signature guitars, tablature books and any other merchandise associated with his name.
I have also spent a fortune over the years in tickets and travelling, t-shirts etc and I'm a subscriber to MBTP and a member of DPAS. So let's get one thing straight, I am a very dedicated and loyal fan!! Now to the concert....

I took half a day of precious annual leave from work, spent almost £50 on two tickets, £20+ on petrol, £10 on food plus parking and drink expenses to travel to Reading today to see the show. I am absolutely appalled that in return all we got was a 70 minute set with NO ENCORE, which also included a ten minute pantomime version of Home Again. I am extremely disappointed and angry at the way that Blackmore's Night
fans were treated tonight. At times tonight Ritchie disappeared off stage for no apparent reason and, in the main, World of Stone was played without him.

I can't see what he was so upset about tonight. I didn't hear one shout for any Deep Purple or Rainbow songs and I thought all these moody days were behind him (I remember Brixton in 1993!). We were considering travelling to Germany to see the Castles Tour but if this is the way he's going to treat his fans then I'm definitely not going to bother.

If somebody was ill tonight I'm sure everybody would understand but if this was the case why was anything not said before, during or after the show. We have tickets for the Cardiff show next week but at this moment in time
I'm not sure that I really want to waste more money/time/annual leave etc. The way I feel at the moment, if the same happens at the Cardiff show then it will be the very last time that I go to a Blackmore's Night show and I will be at the stage door asking for a refund!!!!

A very disgruntled Blackmore fan. (Darren Keeler)

I have just attended the Blackmore's Night concert at the Hexagon Reading. All I can say is how disgusted I am! One of many! The band came on stage late and yes there was a typical atmosphere from Mr B and no violinist? He went through the motions playing without any feeling or passion. Came on at 8.50 and left the stage at 10.05.

The crowd begged for an encore that did not materialise. Many had dressed up and travelled from a far. I spoke to a several who said that this was their first and last concert. Why bother touring MR B if that is the standard. So what if the violinist was absent aren't you a professional? The whole crowd were bewildered, disgusted and angry.

You performed Past Time With Good Company. Perhaps you should change it to Past it with Good Company Gone Bad.
I will never waste another penny, I even paid my friend back for the ticket I got for him. If this is how you treat you fans then you scored an own goal there. Candice Night stated that the band had been together for 10 years, I don't think it will last much longer.

She would do better ditching you and hiring a George Formby tribute player, I am sure that he could do a better job. At this rate you will be performing at Butlins and if I am there at the time then I would rather go and see the Rubbettes or Showaddywaddy or even Alvin Stardust.

Tonight you were a complete amateur to put it mildly ( or try this anagram ANWKER) Retire your wig and give it a saucer of milk you're past it (Andy, Berkshire)
